introduction

Welcome!

Let me introduce myself…

My name is Monica Juárez, and you have stumbled upon my brand new book blog! I am new to the world of blogging – books and otherwise – but I am definitely no stranger to the world of books.

I have been an avid reader for many years; most likely stemmed from my mother and my childhood memories of her with what seems to always be a book in her hand. She would tuck my sister and me into the backseat of her car, then tuck her purse with a paperback book leaning softly against it in the front seat – a new paperback every week – before going somewhere mundane like the grocery store. In hindsight this always gives me a chuckle because the grocery store is a place where there wouldn’t be enough time to even grab a book, much less read one. Especially with two young daughters milling about. However, my mother was always prepared. She had her priorities, and books were high on that list. Under her loving and angelic children, of course.

Now I am an adult, and my love for books has never wavered. The only difference is now I want to talk with fellow book lovers about the stories I find. I hope you enjoy my (what I’m sure will be long-winded) passion throughout the world of books. My soliloquies, my diatribes, my essays, my monologues, my opinions, my speeches, my sermons, my lectures. But most importantly, my voice. It will all be here for you. Whether you simply peruse, or respond with an impassioned speech about how I’m insane for ever believing The Inheritance Cycle series is better than the Lord of the Rings series (Full disclosure: I don’t. I know it’s random, but this was an interesting debate I took part in several years ago.), I hope you take from my blog what you want or need.

Book Monica loves many genres: Literary Fiction, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Romance, YA, Horror, Thriller, Graphic Novels, Mystery, Biographies/Memoirs, Nonfiction.

Personal Monica loves many things: reading, writing, hiking/camping, photography, gaming, drinking coffee, losing track of time in bookstores, chilling in coffee shops, cozy sweaters, beach trips, being my dogs’ number one fan, trying to keep houseplants alive.

Welcome again to Monica Reads Through! Grab a cup of coffee or tea, snuggle with a fuzzy blanket, and dive in.
